LEARN FROM EXPERIENCE

The final step in any network troubleshooting experience, after you have rebooted, checked the cables, perhaps called technical support, and documented the solution to the problem, is to learn from experience.

It is possible that whatever difficulty you have just resolved will one day happen again. The next time, fixing it should be easy, since you just figured out the answer and wrote it down! This will only help you, however, if you get in the habit of referring to your troubleshooting notes every time you have computer issues.

This process will take only a few minutes, and it could save you hours solving the same problem all over again.
