Yesterday's release of Windows Mobile 7 is a breath of fresh air to those of us who use the WinMo platform. More importantly, the choice of the Zune HD user interface as the basis for the new sytem seems to indicate that Microsoft has finally gottent the message: the interface is everything.
That may be an overstatement--the wide variety of applications available on the iPhone have certainly fueled its rise to market dominance. Users sometimes forget, however, that mobile applications existed long before the iPhone. I was downloading and installing applications on my Handspring Visor when Apple's claim to mobile fame was still an historial artifact known as the Newton.
